Oliver Smith, of Sutton, faces up to 20 years in prison following his Wednesday, March 1, plea and a potential lifetime of supervised release, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. He may also be ordered to pay as much as $250,000 in fines.
Investigators raided Smith's home in November 2020 after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A forensic examination of several of his devices and a memory card revealed photos and videos of child porn, federal authorities said.
In 2019, when Smith lived in Sweden, authorities said he had an email account that shared sexual images of children, the prosecutor said.
Authorities said anyone who has any concerns about the case should call 617-748-3274.
